Our
Story
Nobody really reads "About Us" pages, but here you are
Welcome! Let me tell you how a really bad rash guard changed my life.
Back in 2016, my BJJ gym ordered custom rashguards from a big-name Jiu-Jitsu brand. When they arrived, the disappointment hit harder than an triangle-armbar from mount. Purple instead of red logos, off-center graphics, fabric stiff enough to scrape paint, and stitching so rough it could exfoliate your elbows. But hey, I didn’t want to upset my coach, so I wore it anyway - and hated every second. It made me realize something important: good gear isn’t about big names - it’s about passion, dedication, and truly understanding what fighters need.
Fast forward a few years, and with a little Photoshop and Illustrator guidance from my super-talented girlfriend (check out her website; she’s awesome), I started sketching my own rashguard designs. Honestly, it wasn’t easy. I blindfold stumbled into the fightwear business, tested a ton of manufactures and factories and got disappointed more times than I can count. But one random Instagram comment on John Danaher’s post led me to the perfect solution. Coincidence? Fate? Who knows.
After saving every penny I could, working late nights after my 9-to-5, and testing endless designs, LE Movement was born. In 2022, our first artworks hit the mats - Polygonal designs, our first japanese design and ranked rash guards. We started with selling to friends, attented a few local tournaments and slowly grew. Now a few years later we got fans all over the world, from all across Europe to Japan and the USA. Not bad for a team of two, right?
So if you’re tired of supporting soulless, multi-million-dollar brands and want gear made by a fellow BJJ nerd who lives and breathes this sport, you’ve come to the right place. Our fightwear isn’t just clothing - it’s passion stitched into every seam. I promise you exclusive designs, top-notch quality, and customer service that actually cares.
It´s.. complicated
So, let’s talk about the name LE Movement. People pronounce it in all kinds of creative ways - some go full French chic with a dramatic “Luh Moo-vuh-mah”, others give it an English gym bro twist, like “El Ee Movement”. It’s basically the same phenomenon as people calling Porsche “Porch” - and honestly, I love the chaos. Just to make it even more confusing LE Movement is actually a mix of a German wordplay and the English word movement.
Back in the day, Leipzig’s old mayor had a dream: He wanted the city of Leipzig to sound just as cool as LA. And here’s the kicker - LE in German is pronounced exactly like LA in English. Boom, instant wordplay. Kinda nerdy, I know.
So yeah, LE Movement isn’t just about fightwear. It’s about movement, dedication, and a city that dares to stand among the greats. Even if people keep pronouncing it like a fancy French perfume.
